Do you have a nickname?

What got you started in CrossFit, and how long have you been doing it?
I was briefly introduced to crossfit while on deployment in Iraq. Once I got a job here at CENTCOM, I was told about your group by a co-worker. Initially I didn’t plan on joining… hah. I got to the gym late and missed my friend, but the CFCC’ers were there and I decided to stay and check it out. Andy asked me what my workout history was, and I think I said “sedentary with pizza and wine” lol. The rest is history!!

Do you remember your first wod? What was it and how did it go?
My first WOD involved KB swings (which I found I had been taught wrong previously) push ups, sit-ups and something else, I’d have to go back and check.

Do you have any fitness goals?
I would like to be able to work out 5 days a week and eventually get to a point where I can start to do more racing events, such as Super Spartan, and the Tough Mudder etc. and not die at the end J (still kind of dreading those)

Do you play any sports now, or are there any you have participated competitively in the past?
My only competitive sport has been swimming. I am a distance swimmer and love the water. Never tried out many land sports for fear of re-injuring my knee from when I was 14. (tore my ACL and ligaments)

What wods are your favorites?
My favorite WODs are the ones that include abs and legs. My arm strength is a little behind, so those workouts drain me a LOT. I have to say that I really enjoy the variety of workouts. I get bored fast (part of the reason I don’t enjoy running much), so having each day be different is great!

What exercises are your favorites?
Hmmm… Probably have to go with knees to elbows. I can finally do them right!!!!

What one exercise makes you fill with fear when you see it posted?
Burpees!!!! AARRRGGHHH!!

What wods are you most proud of?
All the ones I finish as rx’d

What is your greatest CrossFit accomplishment?
Showing up J and trying!

What is a typical day of nutrition for you?
Breakfast – Eggs, bacon, cheese on a wrap with coffee.
Lunch – Salad or BLT
Dinner – Cereal or yogurt
Wine occasionally

What is your favorite food?
PIZZA!!!!! YUM!!

What is your favorite music to workout to? Or listen to in general?
I like to work out to upbeat music mostly, just not heavy metal or anything too harsh sounding, i.e. wongs with lyrics I can understand or sing along to.

What is CrossFit, to you?
A new fitness lifestyle (for me)

Where do you see yourself one year from now, fitness-wise?
Hopefully I will be in the best shape of my life, still improving with every challenge.

Do you have any hobbies outside of Crossfit?
Beach, family, friends, books, music, travel, you name it!!

Tell us something about yourself that we may not know.
I have strange fears like, accidentally shaving my head in the shower… and I can’t eat melted ice cream, but I love milk shakes…. I know, I think I need help J
